Stephanie Staley, a native of St. Louis, Missouri is primarily self-taught in both watercolor and oil painting. Life’s circumstances found her living in Kansas, the Blue Ridge Mountains and Maine, passing through the diverse landscapes across the United States and Europe.
Still an avid traveler, she colllects mental snap shots, jounal entries and sketches that she draws on to create her paintings. She paints where she wants to be.
She uses intuition to guide her through the painting process. More often then not it is the painting telling her what it will become.
Stephanie is now settled in Milan, Michigan where she maintains a studio that allows her the freedom to commit to her work.
